In 1902, Léon Coursolle conceived a new type of knife with a solid brass handle featuring period illustrations embossed in bas-relief. He became the French creator of the decorative knife. This small, flat knife, available with one or more blades (corkscrew, awl, can opener), has been manufactured entirely in Thiers for several generations, always following the same time-honored method.
