Founded in 1928 in Nontron (Dordogne), the factory was acquired in 1992 by the company La Forge de Laguiole. It manufactures Nontron knives, the oldest knives in France, with the earliest traces dating back to 1300. Handling everything from blade grinding and polishing to turning, handle machining, and assembly, the Nontron cutlery workshop is the only one to produce traditional Nontron knives. It holds the EPV (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant - Living Heritage Company) label.
