Paired with wide-legged trousers and a waistcoat in the same material, it complements both the Compagnons' ceremonial attire and that of special occasions in the rural world of yesteryear. The linen/cotton blend, perfect for summer and the transitional seasons, provides lightness and freshness while remaining very durable. Made in France (Digoin, Burgundy).

Available in 3 colors corresponding to the Companion guilds: Ecru for stonemasons and sculptors, Beige for joiners and Black for carpenters and roofers.

Product History

The work "blue", called "coltin": Work clothing is still widely associated today with the "work blue" which finds its origin in its famous Prussian blue color (or Berlin blue) discovered at the beginning of the 18th century. Very inexpensive to produce and easy to clean, it became established in maritime and military professions, then in industry to very quickly become that of workers, to the point of becoming a social label, even a symbol of protest during the great strikes of May 68 where we saw "blues" burning. It was then that it changed shoulders to dress students and began to inspire great couturiers. It became an essential basic in our wardrobes for its sobriety and timelessness.
