Traditional, corporate German carpenter's work trousers. Straight-cut, unlike the French largeot, they are made from 100% cotton moleskin weighing 520g/m2, nicknamed "English leather" for its thickness and robustness. Very distinctive with their bridge opening and brass zippers, a signature of corporate trousers across the Rhine, which served to prevent wood shavings from entering the trousers. In this material, they fit true to size. If you are between two sizes, choose a larger one.

Product History

Moleskin is to Europe what denim is to the United States. This very dense and tight cotton weave, related to satin, evokes leather due to its finish covering it. The origin of the word comes from the English term "mole skin" which literally means "mole skin" in reference to the feel of the material. Due to its protective qualities, it became the premier material for workwear, originally worn by workers in the Sheffield steelworks in England. Across the Channel, it became the "blue overalls" of our steam locomotive engineers and drivers.
Today, the Compagnons du Devoir's corporate clothing is made from this sturdy canvas. For the latter, there are color codes by trade: ecru for stonemasons, black for carpenters and roofers, blue for masons or shipwrights.
Durable and beautiful to wear, its fabric adapts to you and becomes like a second skin after a few wears.
