Nontron Violin P3
Nontron Violin P3
Although the so-called "violin" shape is not a signature of Coutellerie Nontronnaise, the latter perfectly restores the authenticity of this Périgord cutlery heritage. The wood was air dried for at least four years before being worked. Over time the handle will take on a pretty honey color.
Unalterable T12 steel blade • Stainless steel front bolster • Blade length: 7.50 cm • Handle length: 9.50 cm • Net weight: 55 g • Made in Nontron • Not dishwasher safe
HISTORY OF NONTRON:
The Nontron knife bears the name of the village where it was born, located in the Périgord Vert. Its origins date back to the 13th century and therefore make it the oldest closing knife in France. The reputation for excellence in metalwork was such that King Charles VII ordered his sword from Nontron. Since 1992 the Coutellerie Nontronnaise has belonged to the Forge de Laguiole which is keen to preserve this magnificent know-how exercised today by around twenty cutlers.
