100% Burel wool trucker sweater - brown
Committed to French manufacturing, the owners of Le Laboureur wanted to once again produce the Le Laboureur trucker sweater in France. A meeting with knitwear designer Nathan Tordjman and architect Thomas Mustel made this dream a reality. The yarn is composed of half recycled wool, incorporating 20% of the defibrated scraps from carded wool jacket sheets, and the other half virgin wool. The knit softens, felts, and becomes denser. It becomes rich, warm, comfortable, and resilient for future machine washes. Keen to combine technology and innovation with the development of a traditional sweater, the choice was made to work in " full " knitting, from the collar to the sleeves and falls off the machine whole, without the need for sewing. When it comes off the machine, the sweater is 1.5 times the desired size and resembles a medieval chainmail suit. It then needs to be washed at 60°C without chemicals to felt it to its final dimensions. This final, crucial step gives the sweater its stability and durability over time.
